Spotlights
The core values of FLI are Compassion, Leadership, Truth, Effort, Responsibility, and Respect. Each month FLI celebrates one of these core values through student projects plus staff and guest presentations. Students who demonstrate FLI’s core values are awarded recognition certificates.
This month
As a FLI student, I will understand that every living person has value, and accept others who have different appearances, customs, and beliefs from my own. I value other people’s right to make responsible decisions, even though they may be different than my own choices.
As a FLI student, I will make others feel welcome and good about themselves and will support others. I put myself into other people’s shoes to understand different perspectives.
As a FLI student, I will help others grow by doing what is right, even when others are doing wrong. I will look for ways to improve things, even when others are comfortable with the way things are.
As a FLI student, I believe that by being honest about my own actions and experiences, I help myself and others grow. I understand that being honest with others and myself builds trust.
As a FLI student, I will take initiative and look for opportunities to improve myself and the FLI community. I will try new things, even when I know they will be hard for me to do.
As a FLI student, I believe I have the choice to make good decisions or poor decisions, and never blame others for the choices I make. I accept the consequences that come from making poor choices. I learn from mistakes so as not to repeat them.
Spotlights
A tradition our staff runs for each other, week after week.
Every week, a new staff member is highlighted for their significant and selfless contributions to the FLI school community. Nominated by the prior week's Staff Member of the Week, each winner pays it forward by selecting someone else they believe is owed the recognition.
