Dani McPartlin | Head of Middle School
Ms. McPartlin began her career in education in Everman, Texas, as a 5th and 6th grade Gifted and Talented math and science teacher. While teaching at Dan Powell Intermediate School, she received numerous professional awards including Rookie of the Year and Teacher of the Year. Outside of the classroom, Dani was greatly involved with extra- curricular activities that included the trivia team, Student Council, and cheerleading. Ms. McPartlin joined the FLI family as a math and Special Education teacher in 2010, and worked to help dramatically increase her students’ test scores each year. Ms. McPartlin graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BA degree in Kinesiology and Education and a Minor in History. She is pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration.
Jody Flowers | Head of Lower School
Ms. Flowers began her teaching career at FLI in 2006, working with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades as a teaching assistant. Ms. Flowers has stayed at FLI ever since, serving as a classroom teacher in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, before specializing as a Lower School mathematics teacher in 2014. Ms. Flowers received her bachelor’s from Hunter College and went on to receive her Master’s degree and teaching certification in Elementary Education at the City College C.U.N.Y.
John Harrison York | Executive Director
Mr. York began his career as a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting. During his time at Deloitte, Mr. York completed multiple operationally-focused projects at FLI, including revamping FLI’s Summer Academy program and creating new data management and analysis systems. Mr. York holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
