Accountable TalkAccountable talk is a mechanism that structures dialogue and discourse throughout the FLI environment and is a key strategy to teach students to be socially responsible.
Community CircleOnce a week all lower grade students and all upper grade students gather in a common area for approximately 15 minutes in order to build school community and culture.
Community Service Corps (CSC)Students in grades five and up can serve in the CSC, a school wide service-corps that participates in projects to improve FLI.
Morning MeetingAll classes at FLI begin with a Morning Meeting, which builds classroom community. During this time students discuss important events, develop Core Values, and practice accountable talk.
Social Action Read AloudIn Future Leaders Institute's upper grade classrooms, daily read aloud focuses on texts that are chosen as a launching point discussion around FLI's Core Values for Social Justice.
Standardized Test PreparationFLI Charter School provides structured test preparation strategies throughout the school year.
TripsFLI Charter School expects all students to attend at least one overnight, out of state field trip. These trips supplement the academic coursework, build community and expose students to new environments.
