Who WE are:
Future Leaders Institute (FLI) Charter School was developed from the vision of a small group of NYC public school teachers. FLI provides students an exceptional educational program with an innovative and academically rigorous curriculum, a mandatory extended school day and year, and a broad array of enrichment opportunities. FLI students have excelled, outperforming area students in reading and math test scores.
Who YOU are:
- You are an individual who is seeking to make a difference where it counts.
- You understand the importance of one-to-one attention and are able to dedicate the time and effort involved in such a volunteer commitment.
- You are aware that your participation will not only make a huge difference in your mentee’s life, but your life as well.
- You are prepared to gain a new knowledge of youth and engage with our vibrant students, thereby growing as a person.
- You will commit to working with your assigned mentee from September through June.

Please note that all applicants will be required to fill out a written application,
submit a résumé, provide character references, be checked against the national child abuse
